Areca nut has many benefits, especially in the food and energy industries as biofuel. The use of areca nut as a concoction eaten with betel has been a tradition for generations in certain regions in Indonesia, but consumers are limited. Empirically, areca nut can treat various types of diseases. The various benefits that can be obtained from the use of areca seeds are as follows: 1) as a basic need, energy source and for traditional ceremonies, 2) as a substitute for cigarettes, regulating digestion and preventing drowsiness, 3) as a cosmetic and slimming ingredient, 4) as a raw material for medicine, and 5) as an antidepressant. So that the various benefits of areca nut seeds can be enjoyed by many people, there needs to be innovation in using areca nut seeds in the processing of various food products so that they are easy to consume.
